The stuff you eat and drink affects your performance, your mood, your ability to think, to handle stress, and to work effectively all day long.

Coaching people on what they eat and drink is a leadership issue, especially on the safety side.Decades of accident investigations reveal that a low energy level contributes to unsafe work practices. People often take more shortcuts and become more distracted when they are tired or stressed out.

Distractions cause more accidents than any other single cause.

This short video can also be used as a toolbox talk to warn workers of the dangers of a poor diet. This is an actual incident that resulted in the unnecessary deaths of two workers, a tragedy that was caused by another worker. His high-sugar diet caused mood swings, mental fogs and distractions, which led to the accident.
