I can understand the idea of slowing down the robot. It's useful i.e. when there's an automated spot welding line, where operators are required to replace worn welding tips. Eliminating conventional safety fences makes it faster and easier – an the process doesn't need to be competely stopped. But I keep wondering why would anyone let people collaborate with robots during any assembly process, when they may be replaced by much faster, more accurate and often cheaper manipulators or other robots?
